Die Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Vorderer Orient f\u00fcr gegenwartsbezogene Forschung und Dokumentation (DAVO) ist eine unabh\u00e4ngige, gemeinn\u00fctzige wissenschaftliche Vereinigung. Sie setzt sich daf\u00fcr ein, die Forschung und das Wissen \u00fcber Nordafrika, den Nahen Osten und Westasien voranzubringen.<\/p>\n

Unsere Mitglieder lehren, forschen und setzen sich kritisch mit diesen Regionen auseinander \u2013 sie erforschen ihre Geschichte, Gesellschaften und Verbindungen zu Europa. Zugleich widmet sich die DAVO aktuellen Themen in Deutschland und Europa, darunter Antisemitismus, antimuslimischer Rassismus und Migration.<\/p>\n

Die DAVO bietet eine lebendige Plattform f\u00fcr interdisziplin\u00e4re, internationale und engagierte Forschung. Durch Konferenzen, Arbeitsgruppen und Forschungsinitiativen f\u00f6rdern wir Dialog und Zusammenarbeit \u00fcber Fach- und L\u00e4ndergrenzen hinweg.<\/p>\n

Mit dem Ziel, ein tieferes und differenzierteres Verst\u00e4ndnis f\u00fcr Nordafrika, den Nahen Osten und Westasien zu f\u00f6rdern, arbeitet die DAVO aktiv daran, koloniale und orientalistische Perspektiven zu hinterfragen und bezieht klar Stellung gegen Rassismus, Unterdr\u00fcckung und jede Form von Angriff auf die akademische Freiheit.<\/p>\n

Auf der DAVO-Mitgliederversammlung am 10. September 2025 wurden ein neuer Vorstand und ein neuer Beirat gew\u00e4hlt. In den kommenden Monaten werden wir unsere Website aktualisieren, um Ihnen aktuelle Informationen zu DAVO-Aktivit\u00e4ten \u00fcbersichtlich bereitzustellen.<\/p>\n
