To promote young scientists, doctoral students are given the opportunity to discuss the concepts of their dissertations in workshop discussions (\u201cWerkstattgespr\u00e4che\u201d) under the supervision of experienced DAVO members.<\/p>\n

At the DAVO Congress, the best dissertations by DAVO members submitted to a university in the previous year are awarded the DAVO Dissertation Prize, worth a total of \u20ac3,000.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1572963412739{padding-top: 25px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

The German Middle East Studies Association (DAVO) invites submissions for its 32nd international annual congress. The congress will take place from 10 to 12 September 2026 at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universit\u00e4t (LMU) Munich, Germany, and is hosted by the Chair of Arabic and Islamic Studies at LMU\u2019s Institute for Near and Middle Eastern Studies.<\/p>\n
